In Unit IV we will move from the aural component to the visual component of music.

The focus of this unit is learning the basic principles of music notation. Through different asignments, we will learn about basic note entry and the fundamentals of page formatting. We will also be working with lyrics, chord symbols and repeat structures. Working with transposing intruments will get us into the basics of creating a transcription. We will work with percussion notation as well as small and large ensemble scores.
