This unit will introduce basic concepts of digital audio. In particular, we will focus on editing audio files, adding effects and some fundamental recording concepts.

Working with Audacity, we will begin by learning basic editing skills that will allow us to manipulate a digital audio file any way we may need to. This will include the use of cut, copy and paste as well as re-ordering audio segments and creating new empty tracks and adding audio. We will also be working with basic effects such as amplitude and frequency adjustments along with effects such as echo, reverb and others. This unit also includes fundamental work with microphones, learning how to record your voice with the proper settings in order to get a good clear recording.
