In Unit II, we introduce a basic Loop-based Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) - Garageband.

We continue to work with digital audio, adding the capabilities of a basic DAW. This unit introduces loop-based composition, using both pre-recorded loops and ones we create. Automation is introduced and we'll learn to automate certain parameters such as volume and panning. This unit also introduces MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface). Using piano keyboards, we will record MIDI data and then learn how to use the piano roll editor to make any necessary adjustments. We will continue to do more voice recording and also do a little recording with your primary performance instrument.
