Episodes - Motives

• The episodes utilize motives from the subject and both countersubjects in sequence and imitation

• Episode 1 uses the head motive in sequence and imitation betwen S and A. The bass sequences the scalar 16th note motive from CS 1.

• Episode 2 sequences an inversion of the scalar 16th motive (S), while the other two voices sequence the scalar 8th notes (CS 1 & 2).

• Episode 3 sequences the head motive and scalar material from the expo. bridge (note textural inversion).

• Episode 4 is a return of episode 1.
