This course is designed for the music educator or prospective music
educator. The focus is on materials that may be useful in an educational
setting for teaching, administration, and other purposes.
There are currently three units in the course, each designed to help
the student explore the use of music technology in their educational setting.
Unit 1 -- In this unit, we review currently published music software.
Titles from several different categories and levels are studied and evaluated
for design and pedagogical applications.
Unit 2 -- This unit explores the design and creation of web materials
emphasizing the use of musical elements and their application to an educational
setting.
Unit 3 -- For the final unit, students use presentation software to
create material useful for teaching musical concepts based on the student's
area of interest and expertise.
